By Melvin Hernandez

Let's face it, not everybody is gifted with the talent to dress up. The risk of being overdressed and underdressed is forever a problem for most of us. Actually, even fashionistas have the problem of conforming to the office's dress code while being fashionable as well. On the contrary, others go for comfy clothes that they no longer adhere to the dress code. Here are few tips that might help you with your dress-related concerns.

If you are new in the office, the best thing that you can do is to look around and observe what they wear. Be subtle in doing this, but try to assess what your superiors and co-workers are wearing. By doing so, you'll have an idea of the level of formalness or casualness of your place of work. And if you outline your every day outfit to what they're already wearing your possibilities of dressing up right is better.

Don't take risks and stick to the office dress code. If the dress code is business casual, stick to it. Others go way too far. For instance, if the office allows you to wear pants to work, make sure they are proper pants, not one that has been tattered. Decency is expected from you, especially in the workplace. Colour choice is important as well. Choose subtle shades over loud colours. Subtle shades make you look more businesslike.

Comfort, of course is your priority in dressing. If you're comfortable you are likely to be productive during the day, if not you will just end up fussing about your clothes all day long. It is simple, if you are not comfortable to wear very high stilettos, don't, even if everyone does. As long as you're not breaking any of the rules, just go with anything that is comfortable for you.
