Fur alternatives of today have changed for the better while remaining environmentally friendly. The new ones have a silky look and are buttery soft to the touch. Even better, maintenance is minimal and many types just need to be machine washed every so often. However, using a professional cleaner will guarantee a longer life.

The selection of colors is also great for anyone who wants something different from the usual neutral tones. Faux furs also come in blends, patterns and fun colors like green, orange and red. Sometimes these vibrant colors or textures may be used to bring life to spaces with mostly earth tones.

Using a thick blanket or throw in the cooler months can save energy since there is no electricity needed to stay warm. Natural body heat can remain insulated during rest so there are no surprises by having too much or little heat. Besides saving money, these also save money since there is no electrical control that will go out after extensive use.

Some people like to have a matching area rug made from faux fur. While it can be used in any room, it may be best in a place where foot traffic in minimal. The care procedures are similar to that of a blanket or throw and is ideal for use in the bedroom or living room.

Candles not only look great in a room but can save money and energy. On the market are all types, including those without a flame and scents made to last for several uses. These can also help to warm up a space, instead of using a heater, which can get expensive.

Other ways to bring glamour to a space are to keep spaces free of clutter. When a surface has a lot of miscellaneous items laying around, it can take away from decorative pieces. However, when storage pieces look like artwork, it can add a personalized touch to any organization plan.

For instance, old boxes with or without lids can be painted or covered with gift wrap made to match any room interior. If needed, handles can be made from old wire hangers or cut with a crafting knife. Once these are ready for use, they can be stacked along walls or placed underneath hard furnishings. These can be wonderful space savers and cut to accommodate almost any item worth storing.

Using creativity in practical decorating can pay off in many ways. It does not take a lot of work or money to make a room look glamorous can transform a room.
