Why Use Acrylic Photo Prints For Exhibit Photographs Instead

By David Fisher

Photographs and other visual art forms are very important in the way that they can hold the soul of certain age in history. Great art will always be timeless and more often than not becomes an iconic image that can represent a generation. Even with what technology is available, artists have made it a point that the invention of new media does not destroy the essence of making art.

Being able to reproduce these images and printing them from a digital format is one of the perks that technology has blessed people with. There are many methods now that is available that people can choose from. Acrylic photo prints are the most recent ones being used with its ability to show a higher spectrum of colors when compared to other options.

Each method has their own corresponding benefits and perks. When it comes to price if canvas was compared to acrylic, canvas would be more widely used because it is cheaper. While it has the price advantage it can only produce two thirds of the color gamut that acrylic does. But whether to get one or the other largely depends on the style the artist is going for.

Choosing one method can make so much of a difference depending on what the image would be used for. The response the intended audience may give is also taken into consideration. These prints use photograph paper and then pressed between two five millimeter acrylic sheets. The front panel is essentially transparent to show the image, but the back can either be transparent, black or white.

For those that prefer a sharp presentation when for their photos, this is the best method to choose. This gives the product a contemporary edge when compared to canvas prints. Although, canvas is also really good if you want a more textured, authentic, old look vibe for your prints.

For more commercial purposed the more high definition option would be best since they give a sense of sharpness. The aluminum support used to prop them up also gives a sense of depth and modernity to where the piece is supposed to be displayed. These prints would look great on office spaces and reception areas.

Consider how you would want to view the colors. There are also other artists that would prefer to have the soft feel that canvas printing can offer. But if the quality of black, reflectivity and vibrancy of the print is something that you prioritize then the most high definition option would do the job.

While the price is definitely higher than most available alternatives you can guarantee that this would drop in the future the more often it is used. Many artists and photographers have been using this method to display their stuff mostly due to it being the option that displays in a higher color gamut and gives more pronounced black shades.

Cleaning the print is also considerably easier. The material or substance used can compare with what you can use with glass and other same textured surfaces. You are guaranteed that the photo surface is waterproof, so even if you decide to just use water as the cleaning agent, it would not affect the image quality.
