The Roots Of Womens Sports And Womens Sportswear

By Amanda Brooks

Human beings have always been very competitive with each other. Like how wild animals compete to survive and get the needed food to live on, humans do this as well. There are many things that people do in live on, but in the recent centuries, competitions became more common among different cultures that allowed it.

Thus, men and women have come up of many different ways to compete with one another in hopes of proving a sense of superiority. Historically, lots of different events were done with this singular purpose in mind. The main form of competition in modern times is sports and many women with UNC Charlotte womens sportswear participates in different forms to win and become the champion of it all.

When it was first introduced, the purpose of having sporting activities was to act as training. The cadets that are required during the ancient times where required to perform well in various feats of sportsmanship and athletics to prove their worth to the army. Women are also trained and are allowed to participate in sporting events as well.

The same principle also applies to team games. The origins of it are fairly the same as the first one. Soldiers are required to compete with each other. But the aim for this exercise is to train the recruits in teamwork. They will be placed in different squads and tasked to face off in different events, the most likely one being a mock battle to simulate battlefield situations.

Sporting activities during the ancient period was taken far more seriously than what it is today. Warriors were trained specifically to participate and gain the favor of nobles during it. Various people could participate and train in athletics, most notably Spartan women. In their youth, the women of Sparta were trained to be athletic and stronger than their counterparts in Athens.

In classical Greece, the king had implemented and introduced a new tradition that would last for thousands of years. This was the Olympics, which is still here today. Though, the sports they had was much different that what is there now. Several representatives would flock to Athens to participate for the glory that was given out.

With the rise of the Romans, they captured the Greeks and ruled over them. This in turn, made the Romans adapt the culture that Greeks had as it was considered the most sophisticated of that time. Many different games were held by Romans but none like the Olympics that the Greeks had during their golden age.

More modern world was been inclusive of female participation. In almost all forms of sport, girls are allowed to participate. They even compete with the male counterparts they have during such events.

The progress of the sporting world has given a lot of things to humanity. Many get to show off how good they are at the certain thing athletes compete in. Also, lots of friendships and bonds are built over it, become it something much greater.
