What Is K3rby Hip Hop And What Sets It ApartFrom The Rest

By Jose Nelson

With the plethora of SoundCloud rappers and artists these days, almost anybody can become an underground sensation and gain fame for their work. However, the ease of fame and success means that the industry has become highly saturated and because of this, some talents are easy to ignore and will simply fade out of the spotlight as easy as they came to be known. This presents a challenge that comes along with short lived internet fame and the struggle to get the appreciation and recognition that some of these works and artists deserve.

Despite all this, some artists are capable of maintaining their longevity and that is done by establishing a firm online presence and continuing to shelve out their works on various online platforms for fans and aficionados to listen to on a consistent level. For instance, there exists K3rby hip hop and his unique take on this genre of music, which have garnered the attention and following of appreciators and critics alike. To learn more about this and how the concept came to be, this article will discuss the genre and what sets it apart from the rest.

It was in September of 2007 when SoundCloud was created and released to the masses by the duo Alexander Ljung and Eric Wahlforss, who are the founders of this company. Their aim was to create a new platform for registered users to record new tracks, upload their original content, promote their original songs, and share it to other people and users that might enjoy it. Since then, the company has garnered much recognition and is being utilized by various artists across the globe.

This makes it highly efficient and easy to utilize as a tool for marketing new content and for artists like K3rby, that is the basis of its appeal. Formally known in society as Kerbert Martinez, he was born in nineteen ninety four and was raised in New York, particularly within the Washington Heights area. He was only five years old when he discovered music and his passion for performing, which began by performing and singing in church, from the ages of five to fifteen. However, nobody knew that by belting his lungs out every Sunday of the month, it had ignited the passion that he had for music.

Only few people like Kerbert can express his passion and continue to do so at the age of 22 with the title of the same name released in late 2017. The album can best be defined as mix of modern trap music with elements incorporated from the unique sound that hip hop creates. Tracks like 22 and Bank Account emphasizes on his unique flow and the album art chosen represents the struggles that he went through before setting up his new business venture, K3rby Entertainment.

Nonetheless, K3rby Entertainment is a new venture in business that the young man has started and plans on using as a platform for his content and other similar rappers that share the same ideals. In a highly saturated industry, Kerbert is unique in the fact that he remains humble in his work and his nature of being down to earth is evident in his website and other social media accounts. Having a half Dominican and Puerto Rican ethnicity has lead to a distinct appearance, punctuated by his blond cornrows, gold chains, tattoos, and a rugged but classic fashion sense that draws from Slavic influences.

In his track 22, he raps about being established in nineteen ninety four and his musical journey towards the industry since then. He recalls a time when he was eighteen and found out he would be the father to a baby he had with a girlfriend. This honesty and frankness in sharing his emotions at the time makes his flow unique and establishes a sense of relevance to it, because other young men can relate to his story and where he is coming from.

Such an honest voice is something that not all similar artists have the ability to present in such a simple yet remarkable way. For instance, the track entitled Molly speaks of his experiences and emotions on the drug MDMA or known to the streets as Molly. The hook is punctuated by an auto tuned voice that reflects the dreamy state that one experiences under the influence.

As more time passes, the industry could use original artists like Kerbert that has a unique spin on hip hop and rap. Supported by close friends, family, and a team of producers, he will surely go far. Only time will tell where this new found career and business venture will take him in the music industry.
