Io Echo: One Of The Top Bands In 2012 In The Indie Category!

By Francis McLaughlin

Despite the fact that Io Echo had only decided to release their first song album in October 2010, they have been popular way before then already. Indeed, their popularity seems to stem from their otherworldly music that they produce which are, from time to time, rather unsettling as well. While many may seem to be of the opinion that they're not developing much progression since their launch, they've actually opened for some of the most popular names in the industry. Plus, this group is in fact the producer of the sound track for that hit film known as Rebel.

The first song ever released by this band was in 2009, and the mixture of goth, pop, and rock influences have been very apparent from the start. On the first album you may be surprised to hear a large assortment of instruments, including Japanese harps and Chinese violins. There is also a noted influence from the 1980s, and while they are somewhat new on the scene Io Echo is considered one of the top choices in the indie category.

Some of the big names that they have opened for include Nine Inch Nails, The Big Pink, The Drums, and Florence and The Machine. This gives them credibility in the music world, and has helped them gain recognition in spite of their slow progression early on. The symphonies that they produce are both soothing and energetic, and the unusual tones and combination of sounds has a very wide appeal across a number of genres. That is one of the reasons that they are considered one of the top picks and an up and coming group to watch closely.

Io Echo is just one of the many names that have been rising in the media and the indie underground grapevine. There are also many others that are worth listening to as well, and you will find excellent choices no matter what your personal preferences or preferred genres are. Whether you are looking for the dream pop that this specific band offers or you want something more dark and dramatic you can find it by searching independent artists and labels.

For those who have a taste for indie music, a simple search on the Internet might be all that is needed to discover the new and latest bands of this sort. In fact, before these groups rise in fame, most of them have originated from the underground music-sharing communities and very few will have made it out despite having great music. This is largely caused by a lack of funds and publicity efforts required on their parts to gain any notice by the public.
