Topics Which Make Great Student Films

By Megan Landry

Some topics will always make great student films for anyone who is looking to get ahead. Every year young people who attend universities will try their best to create wonderful movies for everyone around. Many of their creations will prove to be very controversial since they deal with subjects that people do not discuss in public. A variety of issues that are at the top of the list are gay marriage, date rapes, race relationships, having guns on campus, abortion and political issues.

A documentary about abortion will always receive high reviews from any educational staff since this topic really educates people about women. The movie maker will be sure to get opinions from ladies who are pro life and pro choice. All of these females are now able to show their true feelings on these recordings and they do not have to worry about negative responses from critical people. Schools everywhere realize that this topic is a true attention getter.

Men who are involved in same sex relationships are more than happy to showcase their home life for a young movie maker. This loving couple will enlighten people about gay marriage by becoming involved in a pupil's documentary. Some individuals will still argue that marriage is strictly between males and females but others will have a different opinion after viewing this picture.

After the Columbine High School incident had taken place one very creative scholar made a movie about gun control. In an effort to make his picture more realistic he also interviewed members of the NRA (National Rifle Association). During the filming he spoke to many people who were for and against carrying privately owned weapons. His documentary also included footage of family members who had lost loved ones during this tragedy.

Several pupils decided to focus on interracial dating and the backlash that these couples received from other people. The group involved in this project all received high grades. They were determined to show that racism still existed in America and that many people were still treated unfairly. These wise production workers also found out that many pupils often separated from each other after class if they did not share the same skin tone.

A pupil who likes to keep people in an uproar will always question them about their political beliefs. In America people are usually Republican or Democrat. These two parties disagree about everything which makes life very difficult for the average citizen.

This is a very good topic for any young movie maker to focus on since it will always enrage people. The intelligent pupil will try to be a fair as possible to both sides while making this particular production. He/she will show the good and bad side of both political parties.

A person who makes great student films will always want to investigate the evil part about campus life. This will include the numerous date rapes that go on. While investigating this issue the film maker will question and record security officers and school personnel for details. More than likely these young artists will gain employment from a reputable employer once they finish school.
