Dishnet - Dish Network Internet Services Review

By Brian Stevens

Throughout many parts of the U.S. the one option you have to get high-speed Internet is to get satellite Internet service. The question then becomes which satellite service provider will provide you with the fastest speeds plus the best service for the lowest price.

Dish Network launched it's high-speed Internet service, called dishNET, in 2012, and since that time it's become a phenomenal success.

Here's a review of their service . . .

What's dishNET?

dishNET is simply the name that the Dish Network company gave to its satellite Internet service.

How exactly does Dish work?

When you purchase Dish service you receive a satellite dish along with a satellite Internet modem. To get online, your pc will send a signal via your modem to your dish, which transmits it to a satellite. The satellite then directs that signal to a receiving station back on Earth.

Once a site is found, the signal is transmitted from the receiving station, to the satellite, to your dish, and back to your modem which decodes that signal and sends it to your computer.

Just how fast is dishNET?

With Dish Network you'll get download speeds as high as 10 Mbps, as well as upload speeds of up to 2 Mbps, That's 100 times faster than dialup service.

Is It Possible To get satellite service in my area?

. If you have a clear view of the southern sky, then where ever you reside in the U.S. you can get Dish Internet service.

How much does it cost?

Fees start at $39.99 per month when combined with Dish Network TV services, or $49.99 without their service.

Are there any other costs?

There's a $10 monthly equipment rental fee as well as a $99 activation charge. But, if you're a Dish Network TV customer or you purchase their television service, you will not need to pay that activation charge..

What are the requirements to get the discount?

You need to sign up for America's Top 120 package or above, dishLATINO Clasico or above, or DISH America or above plus your internet service.

What are data caps?

Data caps restrict the volume of data you can download and upload per month.

Does disNET come with data caps?

Depending on the plan you get, the data caps are 10 GBs, 20 GBs, 30 GBs every month.

Is there a way to keep track of the data I've used?

You can verify the amount of data you've used by going to mydish.com and clicking on the Usage tab.

If I upload and download more data than my data cap allows for, what happen?

If you surpass your data cap your download speeds will be throttled downward till the the following month.

Does disNET hit you with data overage fees?

No. They do not charge for surpassing your data useage.

It's not necessary to settle for sluggish, unreliable, dial-up service ever again. Today you can get high-speed Internet service at a price within your budget.
