Knowing About Old Mystery TV Shows

By Karina Frost

Every young person around should take the time to watch "Remington Steele, " "Simon and Simon, " "McMillan & Wife, " "Mrs. Columbo, " "Columbo, " "Nancy Drew, " "The Hardy Boys" and "Murder She Wrote." Americans realize that these are the old mystery tv shows that were produced many years ago.

Women who like to look at young men with blond hair should really check out "Simon and Simon." They will get the chance to see a brilliant handsome detective who really knows how to solve any crime. He is guided by his average looking brother who seems to be quite jealous of his sibling. The two men rely on their mother to iron their clothes and cook the meals while they are solving cases.

American people liked to compare the woman on "Murder She Wrote" with the great Ms. Marple who was created by Agatha Christie. This is yet another idea that Americans stole from the British. The old lady within this series was a true manipulator and she would always trap the killer by the end of the program. Fortunately a police detective on this series helped her out quite a bit.

Younger people growing up in the 80's loved to watch the very handsome detective named "Remington Steele." Remington was a fictional character which a woman made up in order to gain clients. She was not doing so great as a solo female private investigator since many men did not take her seriously. Once she introduced the charming Mr. Steele her business immediately took off. He was a real human being who would laugh, cry and even fumble cases from time to time.

Whenever a crime is committed on the beach Joe and Frank Hardy will always be around to solve it. These two young men are known as "The Hardy Boys" and the world remembers them from many books that were written. The guys enjoy dating, surfing and romancing each and every good looking chick that comes their way. They are also good at catching thieves, murderers and other people who enjoy doing criminal acts.

"Nancy Drew" took her crime solving skills more seriously than the boys. She was a solo act even though she occasionally teamed up with Frank and Joe. Nancy even let Frank Hardy romance her from time to time. Her best girlfriend would always come to her aide whenever any of the mysteries got out of hand.

Peter Falk will always be remembered as the best detective on American television. He had a flair for playing "Columbo" and no one else could ever play this unique character. This great detective tried to become fake friends with all of his suspects before slapping the handcuffs on their wrists. He would also attend their parties and other social events in order to get closer to them. These people were fooled by his kindness and eventually they would confess to every possible crime that was committed.

"Mrs. Columbo" was very young and beautiful but she did not have the same appeal as her television husband. Even though she was related to the great Columbo viewers were not interested in her crime solving abilities and they quickly turned her program off after one season.
