Tips On Male And Female Nude Drawings

By Daniel Cole

Art cannot be outdated. In fact, there are pieces which are centuries old but still go for insanely high prices in the current world. It confirms how important the field is to human beings. You can become a part of it too. Male and female nude drawings are a great area to specialize in if you know what is expected of you.

You should pause before you start your work to take note of the surroundings. Some of the issues you should focus on during this time include the height of the person, the weight and even the appearance. It is the nifty gritty things which count in this case.

You should plan the composition. You need to come up with a general shape from the very start. They can be sketched in order to serve as guidance through the entire work. A number of the great artists have reported that drawing the figure in a box and subdividing it in terms of the important landmarks helps.

Once you have started drawing, you need to keep the hand moving. Stopping will only help in bringing doubts to your mind. When you start making changes, you might end up doing a very small part because you will be inclined to change more items. You have to move as fast as you can. Every detail around the figure should be included. Just because it is negative does not mean that it should be cropped out. Raw nude drawings are the best because they give the real picture.

Another crucial area to focus on is economy when it comes to lines. To practice this, you need to try as much as possible to draw a complete figure without taking the pencil or pen off the paper. Nonetheless, it is not an excuse to ignore efficiency and fluidity. To note is that the items which are of no help to the portraits should be cropped out.

Erasing should be limited. It is useful when you wish to lighten the tone. Otherwise, you need to keep the eraser away. Once the pencil has severed the paper, fibers are broken. When you erase the lines and try to make new ones, you will have caused serious distortions. The bad thing with erasing is that it is difficult to stay away from it once you have started the habit.

In order for the portrait to look more alive, you need to include shadows and also highlights. You do not have to worry about drama and even weight once you have done this. They will come about naturally. You may employ water-soluble pens, charcoal and even inks in order to bring out the effect. To note is that too much of this will disfigure the portrait.

Focusing on the entire pose before adding the filings is advisable. Some of the artists still produce great portraits even with cropped views. However, it takes a lot of practice to get there. If you are new in the field you should not try and adopt this. Even 30 seconds are enough to bring out the entire pose. You only need to learn how to remain simple and be quick. You will have a great time.
