Factors You Need To Consider Before You Commence Arizona Paddleboarding

By Janet Clark

During paddleboarding, participants use their arms to propel themselves while standing, kneeling or lying on surfboard or paddleboard. This activity is mainly performed in large water bodies like ocean, seas and even in lakes. In the olden days, participants took part in paddleboarding as they tried to move from one island to another. Participants tend to use different Arizona Paddleboarding techniques to get into their dreams.

The choice you make when choosing most appropriate technique will have an impact on level of enjoyment you will have while paddling. One of the commonly used techniques is stand up paddle (SUP). There are two important things you need to think of before you commence paddleboarding. The position in which you place your hands while paddling will determine how easy the paddling process will be.

Hold paddle using the two hands. Consider choosing most appropriate position for your hands, and you will find entire process stress free. Locating your feet in excellent places in the course of paddling process makes entire process easy. When you place your feet in wrong places you will not only get tired easily, but also you are likely to be uncomfortable during the process. In other words, choosing a good position is advantageous.

Paddling is divided into three stages. The initial stage is actually called the catch. This is stage performed before paddle is pulled back. Hands holding the paddle are stretched until they are around one foot a head of a place where paddle is expected to rest. Dip it into water at the end of this stage. Stroke is an important stage. This is the stage that makes a paddler to move.

Paddle is removed out of water during the last stage. This process is done immediately the paddle is at a position equal to feet of paddler. Entire process is repeated until paddler reaches his or her destination. There are a number of factors that tend to affect paddling process. Every participant is recommended to mind them. These factors are; wind direction, water temperature, wind speed, precipitation, tides and currents, air temperature, lightening and fog.

Wind is one factors, you really need to think of before you start paddling. Minding its strength and even direction is beneficial. In case, you realize that strong winds are moving in wrong direction in relation to which you are moving, thinking of taking appropriate precautionary measures is advantageous. This will minimize your chances of experiencing challenges while at the middle of the water.

Minding lightening, precipitation and fog is beneficial. These conditions can prevent you from seeing clearly. There are many challenges, which might arise owing to poor visibility. Following the preferred direction is actually very challenging. Furthermore, other vessels may fail to see you especially if you need any kind of help.

Consider the level of tides before you commence the journey. It is uncomfortable to move over an area that is rocky during low tides. Minding strength of currents is advantageous. When currents are too strong, you are likely to experience abundant challenges. Mind the nature of currents and even tides for your own good.
