Steps On Learning To Play Piano

By Angela Howard

The imagination that playing a baby grand is hard can make things tough to learn the skill. It is very simple and requires belief and the right attitude to acquire the skill. You will learn at the end of it all that it was a very simple process that anyone can learn as long as they have a positive mindset. Learning to Play Piano is all about the approach you have towards the process.

The first step is to be proverbial with music notes. When you look at them, they may give you an impression of being hard to understand but that is not the case. With invariable practice, you will learn them just as you learn the alphabet. Music is marked with the first alphabetical letters which describe the different tones and pitches of keys in music. These letters are A B C D E F G.

The next step is to become familiar with the piano keys and now what their purpose is. You will notice there are black and white keys. The black keys are shorter than the white longer keys. The black ones are used to play sharp and flat notes and are significantly seen to be in alternating groups of twos and threes.

At this point, you need to be aware how your baby grand is arranged. It is uniquely planned from the middle and extends uniformly to either left or right. The middle set of blacks has a significant importance. At the midst, the group of two blacks, the white key on your left is denoted middle C. With these unique arrangements, all white keys at such a corresponding location are all denoted C.

Once you are done with the identification, you are now headed to knowing how to play Do-Re-Mi since it will be a great way to experience music at its basic level. When you will be playing this, you will be in a better position to learn notes. Practice the sol-fa notation and identify where it starts and ends. The sound Do correspond to letter C.

Congratulations, at this time you are better versed with the basics of a baby grand. It is time you took it a step higher to test your potential. You can test whether you can be able to hit the simple songs. An example is the Jingle Bells that has been commonly adopted as a common song learners begin with. Acquire the skill of recognizing the notes and hitting them appropriately.

Knowing the skills of timing and the length a note should be played is very important. You must know that there are three main notes that are commonly used when playing music. However, they are not limited to three. Other notations exist. Learn the length to give a notation and the timing to play the next note.

You need to have the knowledge of playing the first three E notes that are commonly found at the beginning of a music piece. They comprise two a quarter notes and one single note. An orderly play is an important aspect of memorizing a sequential play. Keep playing until you gain the ability of simultaneously using two hands.
