By Thomas Cox

Blankets are woven cloths intended to keep an individual feel warm while lying down or sleeping and could be used during picnic as something that can be sit on through spreading it out. Throw blankets are the smaller versions with decorative patterns as well as colors used as a decoration aside from providing extra warmth. These are thicker when compared to the bed sheets with more comfort and warm given.

They were traditionally made with wool because of its natural breathability, fire retardant properties and warmth. Though, faux fur throw blanket is now more common which are made of synthetic fibers. The need of fur from animals raised in farms for this purpose is lessened because some animals raised there are badly treated which animal welfare organizations are against of.

Throw blankets are used to decorate other furniture aside from the bed inside the house particularly chairs because it is smaller. These are useful for those that like warmth and comfort when sitting or ideal for small children which the regular ones may be too big for their use. It fits well also in neat and tidy areas making them more inviting and cozier.

Limit it into a few items specially when you like other products made from faux fur to be used when decorating such as rugs and throw pillows. Having a lot of them put in one area would make the space look too rustic or too heavy. Putting less of them will accentuate the room giving more texture on the sofa or anywhere you place it.

Research in your area for companies that are selling the greatest quality before buying them then check their quality if they are to your liking. Choose longer hair ones because these ones do not look fake compared to the shorter ones. Tone variation is better when compared with flat colors and creamy hues must be chosen over white ones for more natural look.

Lighter colors can be decorated for longer periods because they are better suited during warm weathers compared to darker ones. This is ideal for those that do not like changing decorations when a new season has come. They also mix well with modern colors such as pink and navy as well as with bohemian schemes.

Pair them with the right materials particularly those that have opposite aesthetics like a modern space to make it feel cozier. Many materials may be paired with them well such as heavy wool, silk and velvet. The contrasting effect of a contemporary design and an inviting effect would be achieved creating a less colder feel in the area.

Start in the bedrooms when decorating faux fur items and living room next due to their coziness and could be used in cuddling on the sofa. If you have a pet, they would like to curl up on them. Try adding them to formal spaces so the area will feel warm and reflect light when strategically placed.

Place them where people can easily reach them. This would invite people to touch them and come inside the room. This material is washable usually with cold water but some are not washable so check if they could be.
