Meditation With Mindful Harp Music

By Richard Howard

It was once said that if music be the food of love, play on. Whether reading Shakespeare or not, mindful harp music allows one the chance to unwind whilst listening to the awesomeness of this amazing instrument. It is not easy relaxing whilst one is busy doing the endless chores that make up any given day so with this in mind, time out must be planned in order to do just this.

There are various ways in order to relax and some of them are touched upon here. From meditation to deep tissue massage and hypnosis, this type of music plays an important role in reducing stress and leave one feeling as relaxed as can be. Therapists in the alternative medicine industry and even professional doctors have this playing in their surgeries or consultation rooms for that calming effect.

By giving oneself half an hour of the day to focus on oneself, it is a time that can be used to bring the body back into a state of rest. To do this one must make sure there is not distractions and this means cellular phones turned off and ensuring that one will not be disturbed at all. It is best to lay down on one's back and get as comfortable as possible whilst doing this exercise.

Whilst breathing slowly and deeply one allows oneself the chance of monitoring what is going on with the rest of the body. It is best to do this throughout the meditation session and work on inhaling deeply into the stomach and then exhaling slowly. Try not to force this but merely do this for about five minutes.

After a while one's mind will wander and this is the time to try to picture an object with white light in the background. This may seem difficult to do at first as the image may wander and be replaced with other thoughts and images. Not to worry though, allow it to drift but slowly try to bring it back into focus whilst being careful not to push it into place.

When breathing becomes slow and rhythmic start to focus on how one is feeling and try to feel the tension in the rest of the body. This allows one to become aware as to the state of stress the body is in whilst concentrating on the music in the background. One may get restless and agitated but it is best to allow these feelings to pass and enter a deeper state of consciousness.

It is never too late to start. Playing this type of music helps do just that. Taking time out is essential to healthy living.

It is something one can do daily and work it into a busy and hectic lifestyle. If music be the food of love, play on as once coined by Shakespeare. It is definitely worth a try and something that can be incorporated into a busy lifestyle in order to give that better quality to life.
