Add Dimension To Your Image With The Clipping Mask Download

By Coleen Torres

A clipping mask is a cover that's placed on another object which hides the part of the object that falls outside the boundary. You do all these with a clipping mask download. The clipping path is nothing but a closed vector path or shape. It can be circular, square, triangular, rectangular, etc. Anything inside the path will be included, while those falling outside the path will be omitted.

The covering encloses the whole or part of the object in a defined shape. Any image layer can be changed to a clipped image, which takes on the dimension and shape of the layer beneath it. This is called the base layer. The unwanted parts of the layer are removed or omitted from view using the mask.

Create the shape of your choice in the base layer using the shape creating tools. You may choose a circle, an ellipse, or any other shape of your choice. Hold down the ALT/option button and click the dividing line between the two layers in the layers panel.

Once the circular image is developed, you may want to change the shape. You don't have to repeat the process of creating layers, generating shape and transferring, or clipping image over again. With the clipping mask, it is not necessary.

The mask/cover doesn't require destructive editing and saves all layers you work on. You can start at any stage of your job and make editing easy and simple. To start working with the mask, make sure that the base layer is placed right under the image or layer that you need to clip in the layers palete.

Only the portion of the image layer imposed in the shape of the visible layer will appear on the screen. If your image layer is a tree, and your general image is a bird sitting on the tree, the bird will vanish. If this happens, the purpose of creating the clipping mask is defeated.

The cursor immediately changes to a pointing arrow to the left of the content layer, and tow the circles like in a Venn diagram. Just click the mouse and your job is done. Your photo or content layer will be clipped to the shape of the base layer. A right-angled downward arrow next to the clipped layer will denote this.

The software has provision for adding multiple layer on the layer palete. You can add different shapes, different backgrounds, and even texts in the base layer to match your ideal imagined content. Rather than pursuing a destructive edit option, you can alter or make changes in your image as many times as you like within a short period of time.

While reshaping the base layer, the clipped image is generated instantly, giving you instant feedback on the new creation. A number of base layers can be created in this software. It generates the type layer, normal bitmap layer, and vector shape layers.

This mask allows you to save lot of time and encourages you to experiment on your. Another advantage is to reshape the base layer. Just use shape editing tools and change the shape layer. Get your feedback instantly and finalize the visuals.
