They try to control their anxiety, nervousness and depression with the use of music. They tend to be a lot more optimistic towards life.

Given the mood uplifting properties of music, it is instrumental in the healing of major depressive disorder. Music has the ability to decrease the production of the stress hormone- Cortisol that leads to the improvement of one's depressive condition. Some studies have shown that people suffering from the disorder find it easier to interact and express while they are listening to music.

Children can also use music therapy. Most popularly children are recommended music therapy due to low attention span, behavioural and communication problems. To alter it in a way that the child does not feel like he is being treated, it is recommended that he learns to play an instrument depending on his interests and abilities.

Music therapies as you know it, was started in the previous century after the world wars. People would find it peaceful to listen to music and dance to it. But its roots can be traced back to the time of Greek gods, it is believed that the first therapeutic sound project was used by Apollo, where he would cure people diagnosed with mental related disorders by singing a song to them.
