By Jerri Perry

There are many different options when you are searching fort the right abstract watercolor painting. Knowing what you are looking for before hand will greatly increase the likely hood of getting just what you want. Take the time to go through all of your options in order to find the perfect one for you.

Colors are one of the most important things to look at if you want to find a suitable one. Many different watercolors are very bright and filled with color, but there are still some that are not. Deciding which is right for you depends partly on personal taste and partly on what you already have in the way of design for the room.

Finding the right design is the next step of the challenge. The fact that abstract art is such a broad term means that you can wind up with anything from a few specs on a white canvas to an elaborate story brought to life in a visual masterpiece. Figuring out which one is right for you is a task that is well worth taking on.

Trying to coordinate your painting with the room that you intend to put it in may not be the best way to go. Because the range of art that you can find is so large you can pretty much do anything you want with it. If your room is plain and simple adding a funky, large, and colorful piece right in the center of it will create a nice focal point in the room.

Purchasing directly from an artist is the best way to directly support the arts. You can do a search on the internet to find artists in you area that may be able to provide what you are looking for. Alternatively, you may want to check out as many galleries in your area to see if there is something there that you may be interested in.

If you are unable to find what you are looking for in your area, search a larger one. The internet is filled with talented artists from around the world and they all are unique in their own ways. If you still can't find something that is just right you may be able to commission one from one of the many artists out there.

Searching through used furniture shops and thrift stores may be a fools pursuit but you never know what you might find hidden underneath all of that junk. You just might find exactly what you are searching for. The upside to this method is that the cost should be significantly less since you won't be purchasing directly from the artist.

It is important that once you have found the perfect abstract watercolor painting for your home, that it fits well into the tone of the room. Sometimes it's not possible to see this until it is physically in the room. The best way to avoid the disappointment of getting it home just to find out you don't love it is to bring a photo of the space where it will be places so that you can compare on the spot and have a better idea of how the finished product will turn out.
