Easy Ways To Create Income with Footwear

By Sara Fite

It is not difficult to learn how to make money with shoes. Several approaches can be taken. These include repairing damaged footwear, polishing and cleaning, redesigning or repairing and re-selling, and simply selling unaltered pairs of shoes.

The most straight-forward way to make money using shoes is to sell them. The most difficult part of this is obtaining the inventory to sell. One way is to watch for great deals on popular shoe items. Clearance or going-out-of-business sales are especially good. This way, items are purchased at a marked-down price, then resold for the original retail value.

There are other ways to obtain footwear to re-sell. A simple idea is to purchase a large quantity of limited edition or hard-to-find pairs. These can be sold at a higher price because they are not widely available. There is also a market for vintage footwear. Scout thrift stores for quality older styles. These can be purchased at a very low price and sold at quite a mark-up.

To actually create sales, eBay is easiest. Post an individual listing for each pair. There is also a way to set up a storefront at eBay, which gives potential customers a way to conveniently browse a seller's entire selection. This storefront can be marketed all over the Internet to bring in new business.

Other ways of making money using footwear tend to involve more specialized skill and materials. Someone who has knowledge of how to resole or repair a shoe can make a good income. A person who has an eye for fashion and some sewing skills also has options. With a few supplies, almost anyone can start a cleaning or shining business.

A person who wants to re-sell improved used shoe items can do so in a couple of ways. Pairs that have damage are easily bought at low cost or obtained for free. Someone with the skills that it requires could repair and sell them. Pairs without damage, but that are not very fashionable, can also be purchased for little money, then spruced up and sold.

Local, face-to-face businesses involving footwear can be started too. A person who has skill at repairing a shoe could charge for this service. Cleaning and shining work can also be locally profitable.

The easy part is finding out how to make money with shoes. The next step is to actually apply this information. The potential for profit does exist. With a bit of time and effort, nearly anyone could use one of these methods to start drawing an income.
