Isn't it just incredible that we can enjoy the work of fashion superstars like Lloyd Klein?

By Constance D. Thornburg

Isn't it the work of haute couture designers like the gifted Lloyd Klein that makes the Golden Globes, the Academy Awards and other events so exciting to watch? Stop and think at what it would be like if we took all the glitter out of the event and concentrated only on winners and losers. What if everyone was wearing the same clothes, the only tones allowed were black and blue, and celebrities and VIPs were not invited to parade on the red carpet? Wouldn't that be rather dull and insipid?

Calm down, dear, it's only a bad dream: you know it will never happen, and we'll always be able to gaze at the amazing dresses that the top haute couture designers will go on creating for us. And after looking for the hundredth time at Annalynne McCord's white robe at the last Golden Globes, wouldn't you agree that it's such moments that make it all worthwhile? Furthermore, it comes so often that we remember the dress and not who was wearing it, that one must congratulate the designers who create similar masterpieces: lucky them for being blessed with so much talent!

Then, as we were recently sitting together amongst girlfriends, analyzing the 2011 collections and chatting about fashion, we ended up talking about how vital we all consider the right selection of materials and tones. We were considering how difficult it can be to attain the perfect balance between these two elements, and how just a few of our favorites managed not to ever let us down in the last decade.

Clearly, none of us would ever dare to say anything negative about his majesty Yves Saint-Laurent, since some still dream to travel back in time to the Seventies, when he was revolutionizing the fashion industry. As for the others, we agreed that only a handful of them have reached similar standards, and they are the ones who we always look for and which keep us waiting in awe.

It was not surprising to us to find out that there was one name that was regularly at the top of that list: that of Lloyd Klein! So, no wonder he's one of the preferred designers amongst celebrities, who opt for his creations for the greatest events and visit him at his LA store frequently: wouldn't we do the same thing?
