Where do the Rich and Famous Take Their Holidays?

By Angela Burkett

From talking to your friends and family and by watching holiday programmes on the television, you may get an idea of which holiday destinations are the most popular. But what about the rich and famous? Do they frequent the same resorts or are their destinations known only to them and out of the reach of the everyday man? Let's take a look at some of their favourite and you decide.

The Caribbean is always a favourite among holiday makers and for the celebrity, it tends to Saint Barthelemy that they are drawn to. The French Caribbean island is full of unspoiled and beautiful surroundings with a diverse array of wonderful restaurants and interesting boutiques. The beaches are superb as you would expect from the Caribbean. Celebrity visitors include Gwen Stefani and Roman Abramovish who even owns property here.

Cabo San Lucas has attracted the rich and famous for a long time. We can go back as the Western with John Wayne making this his second home whilst today among its fans, you will find Jennifer Aniston and Leonardo DiCaprio. Based in Mexico, it is full of beautiful resorts with some marvellous beaches and some of the finest diving sites in the world. The night-life is amazing with wonderful clubs and restaurants with some stunning secluded areas for those seeking the quiet life.

For celebrities wishing to experience some culture along with their afternoons on the beach, a small island in Italy, Capri offers much by way if history and tradition. Not only celebrities of today frequent here but Roman emperors too were enthralled by what the island has to offer. The restaurants and boutiques are something else and for anyone with money to burn, they can have a fantastic time here.

Perhaps the most well-known of celebrity hotspots is Saint Tropez in the French Riviera. There are some fantastic sights to see here and a magnificent waterfront making this resort popular with celebrities and everyone else alike. The boutiques are expensive which may not out off the rich and famous but there are also less expensive boutiques inland. Made famous by Bridget Bardot, it is simply a beautiful location.
