Why America Needs Chicago Actors

By Jerri Perry

Chicago actors are great people and they really know how to entertain an audience. These are very skilled individuals who have worked their way to the top while enduring many personal struggles. People are very familiar with Sean Hayes, Gillian Anderson, Dennis Franz, Fred Savage, Jim Belushi, Robin Williams, Dennis Farina and Barbara Bain.

Everyone loves the talented Sean Hayes since he is always laughing at himself and others. Illinois residents welcomed this performer almost forty four years ago and they are happy that he is in this world. "Will And Grace" proved to be his best acting performance since this show handled gay situations. Sean never would tell anyone if he liked boys or girls.

When all was said and done this talented male informed everyone about his sexual preference. A short time before this happened his desire for men was kept secret since he was currently playing a leading man in a Broadway production. Hollywood critics did not enjoy his performance and wrote very ugly things about him within the press.

This went on for some time before the show was finally canceled. He came out because he wanted to be happy during his lifetime. Many people accepted his decision and he went on to produce and star in several other television series. He is currently playing a single dad in the American show "Sean Saves The World." Unfortunately the series was recently cancelled.

"Mork And Mindy" fans really like Illinois citizen Robin Williams and they will watch many movies which feature him within them. He enjoyed playing a space alien named Mork until 1982 when this show was cancelled. It really became outrageous towards the end when Jonathan Winters was cast as Mork's mature son. People could no take the silliness of this television program anymore.

Dennis Franz is one artist who always has a mean look upon his face. He was born in this windy city and has played various roles during his acting years. Franz became famous after people watched him on "NYPD Blue." He did not mind shedding his clothes during the filming of this series. Franz often appeared nude in many episodes.

Everyone who watches "Saturday Night Live" remembers John Belushi's younger brother Jim. This man stayed with the comedy program for a few seasons before moving on to films. He has not been as famous as his brother John but he has gained many fans.

Barbara Bain is one proud person to be part of the Chicago actors list. She gained fame during the 60's when she portrayed Cinnamon Carter on "Mission Impossible." After leaving this series the producers could never find a good actress to replace Barbara. They tried to hire several women to fill Cinnamon's role but every person failed to gain the audience's attention. Barbara was also the only woman to star in this series which featured her husband Martin Landau. Her and Martin finally left the series due to money issues and they both starred in England's "Space 1999."
