By Lessie Kaufman

It is definitely a given for professionals to obtain the right tools they need for their work. There are numerous tools that professionals need to make work efficient and provide quality results. Apparel photographers, especially, need a few tools they can use for their work. Here are those tools that the said professional should have.

Steamer. It is indeed imperative for a photographer to have the steamer at his or her disposal. The steamer will help the clothes get back their refreshed look, especially during the morning. It is also the best tool to use when you want to put in more volume to the clothes, especially when those clothes have heavy fabrics.

Clothing racks. You need a few clothing racks for your work. This is where you will be hanging the clothes you will be taking a photo of. When it comes to the clothing racks, you should buy more than one of it. Not only that, it will be beneficial for you to buy clothing racks with rollers because these are easier to move from one location to another.

You need a quality lint brush as well. The said tool should help you keep your clothes dust-free and debris-free. You can take a picture of the clothes without worrying about unidentifiable things that make them look ugly. The lint brush is very useful in removing stray hairs, dust, and loose threads that cling to the clothes stubbornly.

Shears or scissors. Whenever you need to cut off loose threads and even the price tag of the clothes that you are trying to get a photo of, the best tool that you should use for that is either the shears or the scissors. Both of these items have the purpose of cutting. It helps you easily get rid of loose threads and tags.

Pins are essential for your work. That is why it is imperative for you to keep all sorts of pins at your disposal. They may be sewing pins, safety pins, bobby pins, and thumbtacks. It will never hurt to have too much of these things at your disposal. You can use these pins whenever you need to alter the clothing without extensive sewing.

Fills are pretty important as well. The fills are particularly used in plumping up clothes, especially when the clothes are put on mannequins. If it is just the mannequins, the clothes will not look as lovely as it is when a real life model wears it. The fills should help eliminate that plain effect.

Clear tubing. You also have to make sure to get the clear tubing at your disposal. Normally, the clear tubing can be found in the hardware store. It should be at the plumbing section. When you have the clear tubing, you can easily form the shape at the sleeves. It should make the sleeves look shapely.

Cork board. You need a cork board when you need a backdrop. You can easily add a backdrop behind the piece of clothing by pinning the backdrop on the cork board. This is where you will find the thumbtacks handy.
