How To Make Clothing Labels At Home

By Charles Lee

Textile industries use soft plastic tags on the cloth fabric for several reasons. One of them is to portray the type of material used to fabricate a cloth. Another reason is to portray the washing and ironing guidelines. These tags are known as clothing labels. They can also be made at home using the following easy to learn steps. These instructions apply to those who want to start a business of making and selling handmade products.

Several materials that you will require before making cloth stickers. The first one is a stencil with a logo of your business. Spray paints, ribbons, an iron box, scissors and some gloves are also needed. The first procedure is to ensure that the stencil contains the logo of your business. You should contact specialists who utilize laser cutters to embed logos on stencils.

You can also embed a logo on a stencil yourself when you have a simple laser cutting machine. Before embedding the logo, you will need to design it using graphics design software. This computer program enables you to produce two-dimensional graphics. The designed logo can be embedded on a special paper known as an acrylic leaf.

The procedure involves spraying paint on an acrylic leaf. This procedure should commence once you have ensured that gloves, spray paints and scissors are available. Furthermore, it is wise to ensure that the spray paint does not emit thick paint because this will saturate the tool. In this case, you need to purchase a new spray paint from a hardware store. Painting should take place in a properly ventilated room. You can also decide to carry out the painting procedure outside.

The next procedure involves slotting a ribbon over a stencil. The main objective of this procedure is to obtain a shadow copy of the contents of the equipment onto the ribbon. You require a spray paint in this procedure. Make sure that your hand lies directly above the stencil at a distance of about ten inches.

You need to exercise caution when carrying out the fifth procedure. To be precise, you need to ensure that the stencil is not fully covered with paint. Another important thing to do is to cut the ribbon slowly making sure that it does not touch the stencil at the back. You can clean the stencil or buy a brand new one when it is covered in paint.

Allow the ribbon to dry for you to cut it into different lengths using scissors. This procedure ensures that tags are obtained from a dried ribbon. These tags are then folded and sewn to make a seam. It is advisable to sew the cut ends of the tags for the seam to be more appealing in appearance.

You are likely to succeed with sewing especially if you utilize with an easy to use a sewing machine. Choose a string color that matches the tags obtained from dried ribbons. The last procedure is to straighten the tag using an iron. Ensure that the iron is operating at an optimum temperature for the material to be straightened uniformly.
