Just How Many Top Movies Will You Watch In 2012?

By Barbara Hall

If the latest movie previews are to be believed, 2012 is shaping up to be a terrific year for movie enthusiasts. For all those out there who love a great preview just as much as they love the films they promote, it doesn't actually matter if the season's top movies fulfil the hype; their previews can be entertaining all on their own. Among the new movie previews which have been released, the real standouts are produced sufficiently to watch on their own. Look into the new movies 2012 will bring with these amazing new previews.

## The Grey Coming Jan. 27, 2012

Liam Neeson features in what might be one of the top movies of 2012. He and a few others are stuck in a bleak, snowy landscape following a plane crash. This preview captures Neeson's character desperation to get back to his wife, whilst it becomes obvious that the cold isn't their only enemy. Are the wolves which happen to be hunting the band of survivors what they seem to be? Or are they something more supernatural?

##American Pie 4, Coming April 6, 2012

This is actually the first direct sequel to the first movie in eight years, and seems like it is a step above the earlier pretenders to the franchise released in the past couple of years. This new movie previews a vignette bringing us up-to-date with Michelle and Jim's home-life as parents. Few movies will usually get away with masturbation jokes that involve children, but somehow they manage it with this preview, which show the audience that even as parents, this couple will be the goofy, awkward horn-dogs seen in the initial film.

##Snow White and the Huntsman, Coming June 1, 2012

Promptly interesting and beautiful, just like the story's witch queen, this unreal trailer illustrates what will most likely be the most visually stunning of the new movies 2012 will bring. This re-imagining of the classic fairy-tale shows it isn't for kids with its dark subject material and gory action sequences.

##Project X, Coming March 2, 2012

This preview takes the faux-documentary structure and applies it to the teenager rebellion genre. This preview, set to a booming techno beat, brings us into the middle of the most epic party any teen has thrown with their parents out of town, but manages to hint that a darker film awaits as we leave when the riot cops arrive.
