Halloween Food Ideas For Any Spooky Party

By Kat Vincent

Holiday parties offer the perfect time to get creative with menu choices. If you're hosting a spooky Halloween party or a festive Halloween dinner party, you want anything but boring Halloween food. Right?

Food and drink are an essential aspect of the party scene with a buffet that makes the planning and serving easy for the host and hostess. Preparing finger foods is a fun way to feed guests for a holiday party. While sweets and chips are great, most people will agree that small savory appetizers are probably the best choice for Halloween party food. So when planning your menu, focus on snacks your guests will actually want to eat.

Having a Halloween party is lots of fun. Hosts looking for a way to cut down on the work involved can serve easy interactive items. If you serve any of these dishes, you may want to warn your guests about "surprising food" when you invite them. Personal pizza is a great example. Set up all the fixings on a large folding table and invite guests to create their own pumpkin face pizza. Be sure to display all the food creatively on the table.

They can use the toppings to add facial features or come up with their own idea for a design. Chopping the vegetables into various shapes will allow the pizza makers to be more creative with their designs. Guests can compete against each other for the best pizza and vote for their favorite.

Caramel apples are seasonal and again, the guests can make their own. The host can set out a crock pot with melted caramel, a basket of apples and some craft sticks. Guests can dip their apples and roll them in crushed nuts, coconut, chocolate chips and crushed up candy bars to make a personal sweet treat.

Halloween food ideas do not have to be expensive or elaborate. Hosts can choose snack items that match the traditional orange and black theme. Keeping it simple and fun will ensure that everyone has a spooktacular time.
