Guidelines On How To Purchase Concealed Carry Purses

By Tamra Ferrell

Concealed carry purses are special handbags which are designed for women to carry all their personal effects but have places to hold handguns. The internal structure of such a purse is unique. The dedicated compartment has an internal holster that holds the gun securely while protecting the trigger. Its interior walls are normally lined with sturdy and stiff fabric. The liner is normally the weakest point of any bag. For these pouches, it is normally strengthened to hold the weight of the gun and to prevent it from sliding around.

When shopping for such a purse, one should first examine their personal fashion sense since these items come in many different colors and styles. The purse has to fulfill the requirements as a place to carry the gun. Most ladies also like pouches that match their clothing.

Such purses are available in identical designs as their normal counterparts. They include informal, compact, big and professional. When selecting, make sure the weapon area is large enough to secure the handgun. The slot also needs to be protected to ensure people don't notice the firearm.

There's also the issue of size. Small purses impose a limit on the size of handgun that one can carry. Furthermore, such bags have small openings on the compartments which may inhibit your ability to withdraw the gun quickly. For this reason, avoid purses that seem too small; they are not usually effective. Though an oversize purse will easily accommodate the full size gun which is easier to shoot, it is also significantly heavy. This added weight may come as an inconvenience. When shopping, look for an ideal sized purse that is sufficiently large to hold your weapon but also light.

Though it is critical for the handbag to be safe, bearing a handgun is useless if you can't access it. The bag should thus hold the firearm in a place that is convenient to access. A zippered pocket keeps the firearm invisible while still offering easy accessibility. Search for strong zippers which are user friendly but will not jam should you need the handgun.

Even so, zippers have a drawback. If an individual isn't accustomed to the concept of carrying a weapon, they could firmly shut the pocket hence making the firearm unreachable. Additionally, one could forget to shut the zipper. These lock-related memory lapses may have terrible repercussions.

The opening should be sufficiently large so that you can easily reach in and grab the weapon in times of need. Ideally, it should have quick-release straps on the inside so that it becomes easy to fetch. The compartment should remain closed completely so that other items don't stray into the carry area. It should also have an unobtrusive lock for proper management.

In addition to a gun compartment, concealed carry purses should have some space for the necessary accessories. The carrying straps should be well secured and strong to make it hard for one to snatch the pouch. They should also be long enough to fit over the shoulder and help you secure it by keeping the pouch close to you. The seams should be strong enough to carry the extra weight.
