By Gerald L Darrington

Whether you are exploring wedding options for yourself or for a loved one, you have no doubt discovered that planning a wedding can be quite a challenge. The information you will find in this article is sure to be of help in keeping you informed and prepared for your wedding or a loved one's.

As a first step of planning your wedding day, make a list of all the things you want in order of priority. Some may think flowers carry more importance over the cake, where others may feel the venue carries more importance over the guest list. By creating a budget based on your priorities, you can direct the proper amount of money to what you really need to have a perfect day.

Instead of elaborate and pricy floral arrangements, consider placing various potted plants around the ceremony and the reception venues. You can purchase colorful pots or decorate plain pots yourself. You can even used the potted plants as a favor for guests after the wedding or plant them in your yard as a memory of the wedding.

Plan a late day wedding because it can be a stressful day. Set aside time to complete all the necessary tasks without looking exhausted at the event. If your time allows, do something for yourself that is relaxing and calms your nerves.

You could get help from someone else who is attending the wedding. They could help you carry your gear. Your assistant can help you organise the wedding party for great photographs.

It can be expensive to place centerpieces at your table at the wedding. Don't crowd the entire table with one centerpiece; instead, find a more simple option. People will find it easier to converse across the table without a huge centerpiece getting in their way.

If you want to avoid allergies or the expense of floral arrangements, consider using potted plants to decorate your wedding space. Plants can be dressed up with ribbons, silk flowers, lights, or painted ceramic pots to dress them up. When the wedding is over, you can either gift the plants to your guests, or plant them in your own garden.

Do not place too many flowers on the tables at your wedding reception. If you have too many flowers, they can actually become a hindrance to your guests. There are some guests that have allergies to flowers, as well. Think about putting candles that aren't scented onto the table. This can create a romantic look.

While you are dress shopping, pay careful attention to what style of dress suits you and what kind of styles you like. Always remember that even if a style looks great on a hanger, it may not look as great on you. Choose something from the petite section, rather than getting normal length dresses altered if you are vertically challenged. You will notice the difference and your guests will too!

See if you can find a willing helper who can assist you with looking after your equipment and moving it when necessary. They can also help round up family members for group portraits.

If you plan on giving a wedding speech, plan the speech and practice it. If you do not plan your speech, you may cause the audience to stop paying attention, or you just might get stage fright.

Check your wedding venue to ensure that there will be enough room for a dance floor. You can make room by moving some chairs and tables around when it's time to dance, just make sure you find enough space for people to get their groove on.

Instead of going crazy trying to get every part of the wedding in perfect order, calmly read and use these tips to methodically plan each element and enjoy your wedding. Now you have at your fingertips a great array of ideas to help create a special day you will always remember.
