Why Styles Matter For A Wedding Photographer In Singapore

By Anne Raflores

It is easy to photograph matrimonial ceremonies. It can be done even by amateur wedding photographers. What is difficult for a wedding photographer in Singapore, however, is to develop a sense of style -- a craft that he can call his own.

The challenge therefore for every wedding photographer in Singapore, particularly the novices, is how he would produce coherent and distinct styles. Skilled wedding photographers learn to adopt ideas, read photographs and decode them into their core photographic elements.

Indeed, the ability to adopt photographic principles and be able to develop them is what separates great wedding photographers from amateurs. Novices merely copy ideas and this will not help in generating more demand for their services.

Every wedding photographer in Singapore has always felt the need for personal, recognizable photographic styles. People naturally become sentimental with regard to their personal pictures. It's also one of the reasons why couples are ready to spend a considerable amount of money on wedding photographers.

So what makes a good photographic style? The answers may differ depending on the preferences of photographers themselves. But in general, such style comes from having a strong sense of individuality, a sense of timing, a sense of color and form, and a keen eye for design and composition.

The photographer's ability to have complementing or contrasting backdrops using even ordinary places is also a key to achieving a distinct photographic style. Wedding pictures must show more than glitch and glamour. What makes photos compelling is the ability to capture the love that exists between the couple even if everything around them is mundane.

In addition, the ability to use the natural light is crucial for one to achieve quality photos. Because natural light has the power to evoke emotions, it can help render expressive photographs. It also makes photographs simple but awe-inspiring that it can stand the test of time.

Picture longevity is an important consideration for both wedding photographers and bridal couples. With simple effects, the photos can make it appear as if the wedding had just recently taken place.
