Take Pictures Like A Pro

By Nicole Bawany Disalvatore

Photography can be a profession, hobby, or just a way to capture the many memories in progress in life. No matter what the reasoning behind the photo, knowing a few great tips about photography can help you get the clear, crisp pictures that you hope for. The following article is full of tips to help you get the best results.

Keeping your camera very steady is the key in shooting images that are crisp and very sharp. Many cameras have an automatic stabilizer built right into it to allow for some leeway. If you are still having problems keeping your camera steady, invest in some kind of a tripod.

Make a photo essay of you life. Start with a subject in your personal life, like a pet or child. Challenge yourself to tell a unique story using the photos you take. Try to capture various moods and backdrops for your subjects. The finished product will likely be a cherished keepsake.

Pay attention to what is in the background when you are taking a picture. A relatively simple or plain background will better emphasize the subject of your picture. Make sure there is nothing distracting or embarrassing in the background that will draw attention away from the subject of your photograph.

Know the flash range of the camera that you are using. If you are too far away from an object, the flash may not help you as much as you think it would. You need to know how far the flash will reach, and take your pictures at the right distance.

Toy around with taking pictures in nature. Take pictures of the landscape, sunset, landmarks, animals, and much more. Take interesting shots and see what photo gems you come up with. Nature provides many wonderful and beautiful scenes. Try going on a nature walk with your camera a few times, and take shots to make a portfolio out of.

As a photographer, you cannot have tunnel vision. You need to be able to see more. Think of yourself like an eagle flying above and looking down over the entire landscape, not as a sniper trained on a single object through a scope. Seeing more of what's around you is how you get the best shots.

Don't try to pose your subjects for every picture. Candid, action shots are often times some of the best. You will capture a person in their natural setting, in their natural mood, and the picture will look more "real" because of it. Take lots of candid pictures and you're sure to get a few that are great. If you are planning to take photos in a new country go straight to the postcard rack. Postcards can help you gain new ideas of the scenery that is unique to the country that you are in. Use these photos as ideas for the spots that you want to visit.

Now that you have some tips to help you capture the images that you shoot, you are sure to produce images that you can be proud of. You can show all of your photos off knowing that the images in them are clear and ready for all to see them.
