How To Check If The Traveling Pastor Has An Attitude Problem

By Judy Sullivan

There are times when people are required to work together with a traveling pastor. If this is the case, it is only normal to know if the superior is someone who got an attitude problem. If the person can determine who is good-natured and who has a foul nature, then one can easily adapt to the situation. Here are some tips to know who has an attitude problem at the church.

First of all, try to see if the said professional is self-centered. This may manifest itself in the amount of needs that a professional has. The professional can be classified as self-centered if his or her needs is paramount to the church's needs. There are even times when his or her needs take precedence over this church.

No one is perfect. People make mistakes and that is how they learn. If the priest cannot accept their own mistakes, then they surely need to go to counseling and get their attitude problem cured. They should learn how to accept their own mistakes or misdeeds and ask for forgiveness the right way.

Being unable offer a heartfelt apology or ask for forgiveness might also be due to the fact that the said professional has a high blaming behavior. This is the kind of behavior that will just project all of a person's faults on to other people. This means that whatever happens, any mistake is never his or her fault.

Being unreliable is not good for anyone working in a church. Achurch is the refuge of those who are weary. If people are weary, they need someone they can rely on. If the priest cannot give them the support they need, then they will collapse even further. A priest's undependable attitude is problematic.

There are also times when the said professional does not even care the consequences of his or her actions. They do not understand that their actions are connected to other people. If they are such people, then they might have little to no conscience at all. They do not care about other people aside from themselves.

Pathological lying is also a trait of such professionals who have attitude problems. This means that they can lie if they consider this to be helpful to their image and if the lie will not be discovered. If the lie is discovered or followed up on, they will simply imply that the other person is wrong and that the lie was never said in the first place.

Someone who can rationalize easily can either be a good or a bad person. However, someone who use their rationalizing ability to twist conversations to gain at the expense of others surely have an attitude problem. If these people get trapped, they either keep on talking or change subjects. At times, they get angry.

There are numerous signs that a person can still check up on. Be sure to know and identify these signs early on so that one does not have to be positioned near a traveling pastor who has a severe attitude problem. Being aware of who is good-natured in the church will also benefit the person a lot.
