Could I Be A Model If I am Not 6 feet Tall And a Size 2?

By Chris Jay

A young lady asked me at one time: could I be a model if I'm not 6 feet tall as well as a size 2. My answer was, yes you can be a fashion model if you target yourself to model classes that don't require you to be 6 feet tall. There are lots of modeling categories that most women know nothing about. These categories have broader physical specifications and you can still make a 6-figure yearly income.

You will not be on and in a major style magazine, but you can still travel, meet fun people and influential individuals while pulling in steady earnings. These other modeling categories have a longer career span than the "High Fashion" category you hear about within the media.

The key is discovering the right agency that caters to your "type" and to ignore the high-end modeling companies in NYC, Miami and Los Angeles. What do you do if you are an attractive women who is not 5'9", you wear a size two to eight, you're 18 to 30 years of age and you possess a burning desire to become a fashion model?

You most likely believe your dream of becoming a fashion model, traveling, and meeting exciting people is near zero. At one-time, if you did not fit the 5'9"and size 0-2 mark...just forget about it. There were no companies to represent you. But, these days, things are much different. The industry now has room for ladies with a "natural" beauty.

So whenever you ask yourself, could I be a model, you need to realize that your possibilities are greater now than they had been 20 many years ago. A big plus today are young women with intelligence, speaking skills, a good attitude, some talent, and the capability to adhere to directions.

Is this you? Well, modeling agencies, talent agencies, and television companies are trying to find you. This is the sweet spot for women to break into style modeling. You won't grace the cover of Vogue, Elle, or Sports Illustrated magazine -- but why do you think it's essential to be on the cover of a major magazine to become a successful style model?

whenever you want to know, could I be a model, you need to also assess your other skills in addition to just your elegance. Are you able to communicate nicely? Do you have an understanding of fabrics and stitching techniques? Do you have acting abilities? The modeling world is searching for more than just a pretty face. Your inner abilities matter as well.
