Attractions in Indianapolis

When planning a visit to Indianapolis, be sure to do your studies and map out all the things you will not want to miss. There are that many things to do in Indianapolis such as zoos, museums, historical sites and cultural areas. Make the most of your trip by planning ahead.

Indianapolis Motor Speedway Hall of Fame Museum

Found at the site of the famous Indianapolis Motor Speedway is their hall of fame museum. This is a necessity for any race fan. Experience the history of cars, racing, the winner's prizes and best of all , over 75 winning automobiles driven by the Indianapolis 500's best driver's. Take a bus tour around the track and get a full view of the oval driven by your favourite race car drivers.

Indianapolis Zoo

Among various attractions in Indianapolis is the Indianapolis Zoo. It offers a viewing of over 1,500 samples living on 64 acres in White Brook State Park. The zoo hosts specialised events, journey tours, a botanical garden and even hosts an overnight experience for the whole family. Some of the most popular attractions include the Dolphin Journey and the Sea exhibit. Be certain to take a look at the zoo schedule before your trip to get the maximum of limited time attractions.

Lucas Oil Stadium

Lucas Oil Stadium is home to the Indianapolis Colts. There is so very much more than a game to take in at the stadium such as visiting the museum, enjoying the tailgating tent with a full menu, shopping at the shop, live entertainment and the Fan Section. Fan Sector is a family fun center which has games to take everyone. If you are intending to be in Indianapolis between August and Jan, be certain to take in a game. Soccer isn't the one thing Lucas Oil Stadium has to give. They also host trade shows, the NCAA basketball competition and concerts. Check out their schedule of events.

Eagle Creek Park and Nature Preserve

The Eagle Creek Park and Nature Preserve features over 5,000 acres of water and dry land. There are enough activities offered for the family to remain and enjoy a entire day. Except for the nature hikes, biking and fishing that many parks have to give , Eagle Creek also presents you with windsurfing, swimming and sailing. There is a trattoria and concession stand available or be happy to bring a picnic lunch. Dogs are welcome and have their own ball park. Load the auto and luxuriate in a day with the family at Eagle Creek Park and Nature Preserve.

Mass Ave Arts District

Mass Ave Arts District, commonly known as Mass Ave is a humanities and theater district that takes up a five block radius in the heart of the city. The neighborhood offers live theater, art studios, eclectic shops and many restaurants to please your cultural palette. If antiquing is your thing, you'll find several shops to flick through. While on Mass Ave, be sure to pay particular attention to the historic architecture of the area.
