Reasons For RPC Labels To Be Redesigned

By Jami Weiss

RPC labels or labels placed on Reusable Plastic Containers have recently been put through a standardization process to offer uniformity. This step has been taken to make sure that all of the necessary information is placed on the containers in such a manner that it is easily readable.

It was found out by the Reusable Pallet & Container Consortium that there should be a standard for the presentation of these label so that they efficiently serve their purpose. It was best for these standards to be put into place to make sure that the products were tagged by manufacturers according to the law.

Previously, it was not uncommon for manufacturers to print information wherever they found it alright considering that there were no laws to restrict such activities. A majority of products were also being sold without any tags as they would come off while the products were being transported.

It was decided that a single template must be drafted for all manufacturers to use on their products. This would make sure that all the products are labeled accordingly. A major reason to do so is to make necessary information easily accessible by all the consumers.

It was then settled that glossy paper ought to be used for the purpose because it is not just resistant to water, but does not come off or get damaged easily too. The sticker dimensions were also decided as these were to be kept uniform as well. The best part about glossy paper is that it is extremely affordable.

It was additionally settled that traditionally grown products are to be placed in a white wrapper. On the other hand, organically grown products are to be packed in a green wrapper. This would make it easy for people to identify the original source of different products. Just in case manufacturers are not sure about the true category of their products, they can just contact the authorities to work out these details.

RPC labels must now possess all the information regarding the name of the product, its actual weight, pieces inside the package, the place where the product was grown as well as its grade. It is necessary for these labels to also present information about the company that produced the product. These efforts were made for the ease of the consumers so that they can easily acquire all the information that they require. Read more about: RPC Labels
