Baseball is one of the most popular sports in America with literally millions of fans. As it is so popular, we've put together this guide to take you through some of the most famous American baseball teams. We start with the Los Angeles Dodgers, who are part of Major League Baseball. They were created in 1883 in New York but moved to Los Angeles in 1958, where they have stayed ever since. They play at Dodger stadium, which is one of the oldest stadiums in the Major League.
Also members of the Major League are the New York Yankees, who are based in the Bronx in New York City. They were actually founded in Baltimore, Maryland but moved two years later to New York. They are based at Yankee Stadium and even though they have always played at a stadium of that name, they actually moved bases in 2009. They have won more titles than the vast majority of other US baseball teams and, as such, are one of the most famous teams out there.
The Boston Red Sox are one of the most popular teams of the past decade thanks to the fact that every one of the home games has sold out since May 2003. They were created in 1901 and since 1912 have played at the same stadium - Fenway Park. Thanks to the sale of player Babe Ruth to the Yankees in 1918, they suffered something of a title drought from them until 2004 but they have since picked things back up again.
Next up on the list are the San Francisco Giants, a Major League baseball team that won the World Series in 2010. They have the honor of having won more games than any other US baseball team and they are one of the oldest teams around, which lends them a sort of gravitas. They actually used to play in New York until 1957, when they moved to San Francisco and have been there ever since. They are currently based at the AT&T Park, where they have been since 2000.
Our last team suggestion is the Atlanta Braves. They are one of the two remaining charter franchises in the National League and made their debut in 1876. They are sometimes referred to as the 'Bravos' or the 'team of the 90s' because they were so successful during the 1990s. In fact, they were one of the most successful baseball teams around between 1991 and 2005. They also won the World Series in 2005, something their fans are still very proud of.
