An Excellent Quality Item - Ge Digital Camera Review

By Nathan Jenkins

It's pretty sturdy and thicker than the last one I had but it is still very light. I have not yet tested the waterproofing yet, nor dropped it on purpose because I would rather not scratch it.

While I haven't exposed it deliberately to any of these yet...I'll update once it's been initiated. I bought this camera for my daughter to take on her vacation. An as yet unfounded fear is that buttons and seals do not look particularly waterproof. I have not taken it underwater though, and I have no plans to. The 720p HD video looks awesome, especially on your HD TV. No issues with this camera. Feature rich (any mode you realistically need, even a beauty mode) Easy menus Short battery life Zoom is somewhat limited (because of the waterproof case) I have been a big fan of the tough series. I have owned several versions of them. It does have a slow return so I need to find that option of turning off the preview to make the return quicker. The camera is great.

Pictures were dark, shutter speed slow...the first day. I thought let me give it a chance and play around with it. Otherwise, it is fantastic! If you follow the instructions, it is easy to use, with no leaking possible. My girlfriend and I took a month long vacation in Nicaragua. We both bought stylus tough series cameras. It does not seem to judge light conditions very well, often telling me that the camera was shaking in daylight conditions. I also found it cumbersome to sift through the "scene" features on this camera. Right off the bat, the front fascia (blue in my case) was easily dented by the charging cord bumping against it (which later cost me a restocking fee when I returned it because it was "damaged"). I thought it was supposed to be tough!

We spend tons of time at the beach, our pool and the waterpark so waterproof was necessary. The only complaints I have are 1.) It takes a long time to turn on and off.

Eventually after 18 months, it stopped working altogether. So I sent it to the New York Olympus center.

This is just something to help you out if you buy one. All of this was bought for $180.

I use this camera primarily for taking close-ups (think inches) away in either bright sunlight or very dim and shadowed areas. It even has a LED that can be turned on to light up very close pictures.
