Make Up Tips for your Matric Farewell

By Ian MacOlive

August will be around soon, and the majority of mothers and daughters are concentrating on that upcoming matric farewell. A dress will be chosen, a hairstyle will be designated, and techniques for matric makeup will be determined. One thing is certain, and it is that no one wants to worry about their matric makeup or skin complexion during the evening, but your daughter's matric makeup is still a very important part of her appearance. That being said, it becomes very important for your daughter to keep up a natural skincare regiment before the event occurs. Smooth, healthy skin, will form a great canvas for matric makeup, and with that, matric makeup tips will become much for effective.

If you wish to practice good skincare, then you should become aware that it is started off with an effective cleanser, and of course a toner to reduce the appearance of pores. Take note that larger pores can appear in the T section of the face, and you should accompany this with a natural moisturizer. There are products that will deal with your skincare, though you should note that quite a few fillers have been proven to be quite dangerous, especially those that contain preservatives.

If your budget permits it is certainly worthwhile considering hiring a makeup artist for the big night but if this is simply not possible preparation is vital and can be great for taking a lot of the pressure off. Help your daughter to practice various matric makeup techniques until she is satisfied with a particular look and is comfortable with the application of the makeup. This is also a great opportunity for mother and daughter to spend quality time together but it is important to allow her to express herself while you offer gentle guidance when it is necessary.

A corrector stick or concealer should be used if needed, but you should remember to go easy on the application. As far as using the concealer goes, you need to know what you're doing, and you may even need to brush up on your skills while you are at it. There is plenty of information out there that will help your daughter come into her own on the big night.

Tips for the Night

Make sure she dresses only after she's applied her makeup.

Use dust frosted powder on the cheekbones to provide for an attractive glow.

To avoid a more unnatural look, blend the blusher with the foundation.

In most cases, less is more!

Advise your daughter to keep a small purse with her at all times in which she can keep her lipstick or lip gloss for those quick touch ups before any photographs are taken. Provided that the right techniques are followed your daughter's matric makeup will only serve to make her night all the more magical as she celebrates the end of her schooling career and the start of her journey into adulthood.
