Houston museums of diverse styles of sciences and arts, children's museums and museums that focus broadly on a variety of major areas of our history are all situated in the Houston Museum District. The great part about these Houston museums is that most of them are free to visit!

Houston museums are thought to be some of the best museums in the country. Houston, being the largest town in the great state of Texas, has a good selection of museums that appeal to both adults and children alike. There are very few other locations in Texas that museum enthusiasts can visit this quantity of museums that are located in one place.

American Cowboy Museum

For those who have a special place in their heart for Native American history, the American Cowboy Museum is the place to be. Here, this museum dedicates itself to our western heritages and that of the native American tribes who were first to live and flourish on American lands. Everyday the American Cowboy Museum features lecturers wearing native American garments, talking about the history of their American forefathers. Children's Museum of Houston

Take your small ones to one of the most impressive children's museum globally. Over 90,000 square feet constitute the unique Children's Museum of Houston. This enormous museum features assorted areas dedicated to help in the training process by making it enjoyable and engaging for your kid. The Children's Museum of Houston has everything from challenging interactive areas to areas that focus mainly on teaching kids in eco-friendly subjects including energy conservation and water power.

The Contemporary Arts Museum Houston and The Bayou Bend Collection and Gardens
