What is A Hookah

By Max Collins

Hookah or as lots of folks might call it shisha, nargile or argile; has become all the rage throughout the last decade. The beginnings of the custom have proven to be traced to Persia, an estimated 400 years in the past. After that it spread to the Middle East which is where it grew to become a part of the traditions. Social smoking became the norm; people young and old all started smoking at gatherings not to mention small occasions. In the following, we will talk about each of the various parts which make a hookah, the tobacco, the many different types of hookah along with its propagation over the world.

What exactly constitutes a hookah? The hookah consists of a bowl, a body, a hose, a purge valve, a water jar as well as a plate. The bowl is used to contain the tobacco. The top of the bowl is roofed by a piece of perforated aluminum, which allows the circulation of air from the top to the base. A piece of charcoal is put on the aluminum foil to warm up the tobacco. The body of the shisha connects the bowl to the water jar and hose. The hose is coupled to the body and it is used to pull the smoke out of the bowl. The smoke subsequently traverses through the bowl to the water jar and finally to the hose. If the smoke is just too dense, blow inside the hose and the purge valve is going to evacuate the smoke in the water jar. The plate is situated underneath the bowl and its key function will be to contain the charcoal when it is lighting and even when it's too small to warm up the tobacco.

Exactly what is the hookah tobacco made out of? The tobacco is made from a blend of tobacco and molasses. This tobacco is available in a wide range of flavours: apple, pineapple, grapes, fruit cocktail, Coca-Cola etc. The smoke created from the tobacco has a delicious fragrance. A lot of people currently have reported that social smoking alleviates stress. It provides a soothing influence on nerves and fosters a feeling of well being.

Is there one type of hookah? Hookahs come in all shapes and sizes, which range from traditional to modern styles. You could also customize your shisha by mixing and matching a variety of parts together, to build your special shisha. There are lots of accessories which can really make your smoking experience more enjoyable. Here is an example, you could add a double bowl on your shisha, that lets you smoke two flavors from the same bowl. Another great add-on is the wind cover, which shields the charcoal from burning off too fast or from falling off the bowl, whenever smoking outside.

Where can I smoke hookah? Shisha lounges have become available worldwide. They've gained traction over the past ten years, from Nepal and Southeast Asia to Canada together with the Us. Smoking and mingling go hand in hand. These lounges have increased in popularity with students. This is the reason several of them are situated around college and university campuses.
