Deciding On Tattoo Cover Up Makeup

By Andrea Davidson

Tattoos are very popular accessories for the body and many people opt to have them. However, some people may wish to hide their body art if they are going to a job interview. The reason for this is that some prospective employers may possibly choose not to employ someone with body art. Others may not like the tattoo they received, and may wish to hide it to avoid embarrassment. Therefore, to these people, tattoo cover up makeup is very important.

The most important part of these cosmetics is obviously the ability of the make up to hide the body art. Try looking up reviews on the internet or asking friends or family for recommendations on cosmetics that they have tried. Some magazines may offer free test samples of the make up they are advertising, and many pharmacies selling the products may do the same which you can test in store. Make sure you are informed before you make an investment.

Another factor to consider is the price. A more expensive brand may not necessarily hide the body art any better than a cheaper one, so ensure that you get what you are paying for. Do some research into the most popular brands to see what the average cost is. Do not just consider the price either, consider the amount of make up you are getting. Try to work out the price of a product per 100 grams, for instance, to allow you to compare between different brands.

The cosmetics you buy must be able to withstand daily water contact. This could include rain, water from washing hands or from the shower. By making sure that the cosmetics you use are waterproof, you are ensuring that you do not need to keep reapplying the cosmetics throughout the day. You must look for brands which claim they are waterproof, and ensure the reviews of the products support this claim. This therefore will save you time, money and effort in the long term.

Concealer is the most important product you could possibly need. This is essentially the thing that does the hiding, as it colors in the body art with the color of your skin. Because of this, the selection of your concealer must be careful. If you have pale skin, make sure that the concealer you choose is not too dark, as this may result in an orange patch where you have applied it. If you have dark skin, a concealer which is too pale could lead to a light shiny patch where your tattoo is, thus drawing more attention to the area. Try to test every color of concealer against your skin before buying.

Before applying the cosmetics onto your body art, you should also consider applying a base or moisturizer to ensure the products go on smoothly and cannot be seen. Many companies can provide these moisturizers, and some are specifically designed for tattooed skin. Using one could save you money and time reapplying the products you buy.

Some companies offer a protective seal for the cosmetics once they are on your skin. This creates a protective barrier over the cosmetics you have applied to stop them rubbing off or washing off in the rain or shower. These protective seals could be a very useful investment if you are planning to cover up your body art.

Use this article to help you make an informed decision when buying tattoo cover up makeup, ensure you know what you should look for and that you pay a fair price for something which will do the job correctly.
