Arts And Crafts Ideas Using The Fruits From Your Garden

By Daniel Turbin

If you are blessed enough to get fruit trees in your garden, why not utilize the produce in these arts and crafts ideas. If you don't have a garden, you can still try these projects using fruit obtained in your nearby store.

Everybody knows what a toffee apple appears like and little ones love them at Halloween. They are easy to make at home and are often more attractive than those bought at the store. Mix some sugar, butter, water and a bit of vinegar in a pot and heat to 290F. Get some lolly sticks and put one through the core of each apple. Dip the apple in the mixture and allow to set. They will shortly become hard.

If you love apples but don't prefer to cover them in toffee you may use them as candle holders to beautify the table for a summer barbeque. Cut a hole in the top of the apple and insert a candle. Put a few of these apples into a bowl half-filled with water. Put some leaves and petals for a lovely decoration. As the sun sets, light the candles to make a wonderful ambiance. The kids may eat the apples the next day or use them in other arts and crafts ideas.

In case you get a sweet tooth, dry some fruit pieces in a warm oven. You can take apples, mangos, apricots or oranges. Once the fruit has dried, dip in melted chocolate for an excellent treat.

If you don't want to add on the pounds but still choose to use your produce why not make it into potpourri and use it to keep your linens fresh. Almost all fruits can be dried in an oven using a low heat. Citrus fruits work quite well as they emit a lovely smell. There are so many arts and crafts ideas to utilize, you will never waste your garden produce ever
